Well I was born at a very early age. I've been around a few weeks and now live in the best kept secret in the USA, Florence, OR  -  Woops, there goes my security clearance. 

I love the business we're in. It all began when I spent my holidays off from school, as a kid living in Southern California, trying not to get kicked out of the Hollywood TV stations when I'd sneak in to see how things were done. Things haven't changed much over the years. I've done just about every technically oriented job in large, medium and small market television. I think my talents lay in mixing audio and fixing transmitters. Since my accident, while Chief Engineer in San Francisco, I'm kind of relegated to writing about this crazy business and making observations in magazines and in the Tech-Notes that I publish with Jim Mendrala.

Life's been good to me. I've been married to the same woman since 1964. I met her in Florence, Italy and after a whirl-wind courtship over the world's very first geosynchronous satellite, Syncom, we settled down, had two sons who've given us a total of eight grandkids.  I enjoy Broadway Musicals, playing the theatre pipe organ, ham radio, building websites and making my family happy. Served my country well in Uncle Sam's canoe club for 16 years and have a total disdain for the IRS.

Feel free to call me most anytime, but keep in mind that I live on the west coast. My wife gets rather upset with calls between midnight and 8 AM, unless it's someone wanting to give us copious amounts of money.
